What makes Ocean City New Jersey so great?

As mentioned above, Ocean City is known as “America’s greatest family resort”.  There are countless reasons why this Jersey Shore beach town has acquired this title. We are going to highlight some of our favorite reasons why we think Ocean City New Jersey has been honored with such a noble title.

Arguably the largest and most popular attraction is the 2 ½ miles a beachfront boardwalk. During morning hours you can rent bicycles and the iconic 4 person surrey. The bicycles have to leave the boardwalk late morning and become taken over by pedestrian walking traffic. This is when you can come to the boardwalk to shop, eat or go to one of the many arcades. 

The Ocean City boardwalk is also home to Gillian’s Wonderland Pier. This boardwalk amusement park has been entertaining families since 1929. Just look around you when you’re on the boardwalk and you should be able to spot the 144 foot tall giant Ferris wheel. It will provide you views of most of the island and on a clear day all the way to Atlantic City.

The boardwalk as numerous famous pizzerias like Mac and Mancos or Prep’s pizza, Kohr’s Frozen Custard and Johnson’s Popcorn.
